How A/C Creates Cold Air
The A/C in your car is a closed system filled with a gas called refrigerant. This refrigerant can be pressed into a hot liquid by your compressor, which then goes through a pressurized condenser to cool the liquid down. As soon as the refrigerant is let loose into a non-pressurized chamber, it reverts to gas and retrieves the amount of heat it put out before, taking that heat from the chamber and surrounding air. This air is then blown at you, and the refrigerant goes back to the compressor to start again.
